Research Project: An Indenter for the Investigation of Soft Tissue Mechanical Properties of Trans Tibial Prosthesis Users (TÜBİTAK MİSAG-183)

Block diagram of in vivo soft tissue test equipment

Soft tissue testing unit, composed of a step motor and a load cell was tested thoroughly using various viscoelastic dummies before in vivo tests on volunteers with trans tibial amputation.

The control box contains the power pack, data acquisiton card, voltage to frequency converter and step motor driver card. The box communicates with the computer by the USB port and is connected to the test unit by shielded cables and connectors. During tests various mesurements were performed.

Raw data of cyclic loading on a viscoelastic dummy during development of soft tissue testing equipment.

Result of a force relaxation experiment on a viscoelastic dummy.

Force response of a creep experiment on a viscoelastic dummy.

Details of the experiment. The test probe is on a stand and rests against the residual limb. It is secured by a velcro stap and a pad distributes the pressue behind the residual limb.
